Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026 · Applies to the Stay Offline mobile app (iOS & Android), by FancyTrendyApps.

The short version: Stay Offline exists to get you off your phone — not to harvest your data. We collect the minimum needed to run the app, your journey photos are private by default, your phone-usage data never leaves your device, and we never sell data or show ads.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Account. The app works guest-first: on first launch we create an anonymous account with a random identifier — no email or name required. If you later sign in with Apple or Google (needed for friends, sync, or restoring purchases on a new device), we receive your sign-in identifier and, depending on your choice, your name and email.
Profile. The display name you enter and your chosen illustrated avatar. No selfies or profile photos are used.
Activity data. The offline sessions you log: activity, duration, timestamps, streak and challenge progress.
Journey stories & photos. Notes and photos you attach to your journey. These are private by default, stored encrypted in transit and access-controlled so only your account can read them. There is no public feed.
Friends. If you add friends, we store the connection and nudges you exchange. Friends see your streak and weekly offline hours — never your stories or photos unless a future feature lets you explicitly share a specific item.
Purchases. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and the app stores. We never see your payment details — Apple and Google process all payments.
Analytics. Anonymized product analytics (e.g., which screens are used, where users drop off) to improve the app. No advertising SDKs, no cross-app tracking, no data sales.

3. Screen Time & usage data — on your device only

If you enable the optional Screen Time assist: on iOS, Apple's Screen Time frameworks process everything on your device — by Apple's design we cannot read which apps you use or for how long; the app only receives simple signals such as "this offline session can be auto-confirmed." On Android, usage access is processed on your device and raw usage data is not uploaded. You can use Stay Offline fully without granting this permission.

4. Permissions we ask for

Camera / photo library — only to attach a photo to a journey memory or save your share card. Access happens only when you initiate it.
Notifications — reminders you schedule and gentle nudges. Optional; the app works without them.
Screen Time / usage access — optional, see section 3.

5. How we use data

To provide the app (sessions, streaks, journey, friends), process subscriptions, send notifications you asked for, and improve the product via aggregated analytics. Legal bases under GDPR: performance of contract, legitimate interest (product improvement), and consent (optional permissions).

6. Where data lives & how long

Data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) on cloud infrastructure, protected by row-level security so each account can only access its own data. We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your server-side data (sessions, stories, photos, friendships) within 30 days; store purchase records remain with Apple/Google per their policies.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or email us. EU/UK users have GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, complaint to a supervisory authority); California residents have equivalent CCPA rights. 8. Children

Stay Offline is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Sharing

We share data only with the processors that run the app: Supabase (backend/storage), RevenueCat (subscriptions), PostHog (product analytics), and Apple/Google (payments, notifications). We never sell personal data and never share it for advertising.

10. Changes

We'll update this page and the date above when the policy materially changes, and note it in the app's release notes.
